The Anti-Pesto Song is a deleted song from Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
There was originally going to be a sub-plot in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit where Wallace was learning to play the ukulele (much to Gromit’s annoyance), and had aspirations to join a band, but kept getting rejected because he wasn’t good enough.
Lyrics[]
Wallace: Anti-Pesto, are the best-oh
When animals annoy ya
If you try to D.I.Y.
with garden pests, the price you pay could be twice as high
Your veg will be in peril, you'll tear out all your hair until you call...
The best of all
May I suggest-oh, Anti Pesto
Forget the rest-oh, call Anti-Pesto
Please request-oh, Anti-Pesto
Forget the rest-oh, call—
(Wallace answers the phone)
(Spoken by Wallace) Anti-Pesto, quick-reaction mobile unit. How may we help you?
Lyrics (The Anti-Pesto Reprise)[]
So if it's garden pests you've got, don't hesitate to call
Wallace and Gromit, your local pest control
We used to clean your windows, but now we're not so keen
'cos catching pests is much more fun than keeping windows clean!
Wallace: (spoken) Oh! Just working on our company song, lad!
Thanks, lad. Smashing.
Trivia[]
- The reprise references the duo’s previous occupation in A Close Shave. Had the song (and sub-plot) been included, this would have predated Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl as being the first time a previous instalment was directly mentioned by a character in the franchise.
