Wallace & Gromit: Cheese Lover's Yearbook is a Wallace & Gromit book that was published by Andrews McMeel Publishing in December 1997. It was written by Geoff Tibballs, illustrated by Stuart Trotter and designed by Unlimited.

Plot[]

The book showcases a look into the lives of Wallace and Gromit over a year, serving as the diary both characters personally write into, the latter using typed up text on taped-in paper. It is also bookended by other pages of information like notes. The left pages for the diary days feature a "CHEESY DIP" section that discusses a cheese factoid with a drawing featuring the cheese and characters resembling Wallace and Wendolene. Relevant elements like newspaper clippings will be taped to the diary and it will additionally show damage related to the concurrent events, such as pages being partially bitten when the flock of sheep are residing at 62 West Wallaby Street and eating things.

The films are chronologically set in the order of The Wrong Trousers, A Grand Day Out and A Close Shave rather than in order of their release. Events will flow into and out of the films' plots, such as the duo using up the reward money for capturing Feathers McGraw, beginning their window cleaning business and Wallace still trying to make things work with Wendolene after the events of A Close Shave and continuing to see the rebuilt Preston (now referred to as "Preston II"), as well as Shaun still taking residence with the duo as per Gromit's request.

  • Wallace's birth certificate is shown and refers to the names of his parents as merely "Dad" and "Mum", the former of which having the profession of "Father Christmas at the Co-Op (part-time)".
  • Despite the series' more ambiguous setting in time, a 1 October date for "NOTABLE DATES IN THE CHEESE CALENDAR" specifies a year with "International Olympic Committee meet to discuss possible inclusion of Gouda tossing for year 2000".
  • The film order of The Wrong Trousers, A Grand Day Out and A Close Shave was coincidentally also used in the The Incredible Adventures of Wallace & Gromit home media release. In this case, The Wrong Trousers specifically alludes to being set in February through Gromit's birthday, necessitating an early placement in the year.
  • Wallace put planning to ask for Wendolene's hand in marriage as a New Year's resolution, something that would also be alluded to with the future love interests of Lady Tottington and Piella Bakewell.
  • Gromit would later be featured communicating through writing in Wallace & Gromit's Musical Marvels.
